After its initial release on a console in November 2019, death stranding has gained world recognition, winning three out of the nine nominations in the G.A.N.G awards. Designed by Hideo Kojima, death stranding has gained a reputation as a genre-defying game from fans of the Metal gear series (also designed by Hideo Kojima).
Death Stranding is Hideo’s first game after leaving Konami and it was scheduled to be released to pc version in June 2020, but due to complications arising from the coronavirus, was rescheduled for July 14, 2020. And now that we have the pc version of death stranding, what are to expect?
For some of us that haven’t played the console version, but have been seeing the amazing trailers, death stranding is about a post-apocalyptic America that has been destroyed by death stranding. The desolated land is filled with otherworldly creatures from a realm between life and death etc.
To make America whole again, Sam potter bridges (Norman Reedus) must deliver packages to disconnected colonies in the hostile game world, while trying to evade assassins and thieves who would try to either kill or steal the packages. Is delivering packages all that there is to death stranding?
Carrying heavy packages strapped to the back, arms, and legs, then trying to cross violent rivers, and climb un-even mountains isn’t as easy as it sounds. Also, a rain called Time fall, which ages any creature it lands on. For humans, that means, wrinkles, grey hairs, and frail stature. All these obstacles culminate to initial frustrations, but after persevering, will turn to excitement as you get lost in the beautiful world of the game.
Death Stranding PC makes more sense now that the world is in turmoil (Coronavirus), and the delivery men and women are the helms of getting packages across to us. To foster connectedness, and helping each other while playing the game, you come by certain provisions such as ropes, shelters, and bridges that have been made by other players. These aid your journey and spur you to leave something behind for someone else.
